Pinhole Camera Participation Set – Start your analog art journey

With the Pinhole Camera Participation Set, you receive everything you need to take part in the international art project The 7th Day.
At the center of the project is a simple, analog camera obscura, also known as a pinhole camera. It works entirely without electricity, lenses, or electronics – using only a small hole and the natural effect of light. The concept is based on the earliest forms of photography and follows the experiments of Joseph Nicéphore Niépce, who created the world’s first photographic image using heliography.

The included pinhole camera comes preloaded with light-sensitive photo paper. You can place it immediately at a location of your choice – indoors or outdoors, for a few days, several weeks, or even months. The camera is ideal for long exposure photography, also known as solargraphy. Depending on exposure time and lighting conditions, each image develops into a unique visual trace of sunlight and passing time.

The set also includes detailed instructions, a pre-addressed return envelope, and a password for accessing the digital archive. After you return the exposed negative, it will be scanned, processed, and added to the online archive. This makes your photo part of a global, growing collection with over 12,000 participants so far.
